LINKIN PARK's MUSIC FOR RELIEF Starts New Auction
December 7, 2007The Pulse of Radio reports: LINKIN PARK's Music For Relief charitable organization has launched a new benefit auction on eBay to raise funds for the victims and survivors of Cyclone Sidr, which devastated Bangladesh on November 15. More than 3,300 people were killed and 40,000 injured, with 564,000 homes destroyed. A total of more than 8.5 million people were affected by the storm. The UN has reported that food, shelter, water, sanitation and money are urgently needed.
LINKIN PARK has donated VIP ticket packages, a signed and customized Xbox and Mike Shinoda DC Remix sneakers, while other items up for bidding include a signed AVENGED SEVENFOLD guitar, an autographed SMASHING PUMPKINS poster and additional items from DEFTONES, FIVE FINGER DEATH PUNCH, MADONNA, AVRIL LAVIGNE, SLAYER and others.
LINKIN PARK initially started Music For Relief in 2005 to raise relief funds for victims of the Southeast Asian tsunami. More recently, the foundation held an online auction with proceeds going to recovery and reforesting efforts in the Southern California areas devastated by wildfires.
